Still following through from the success of  the Great Gatsby last year, we are seeing more of a return to old world glamour and formality.  Think Coco Chanel meets Downton Abbey.

On holiday over Christmas I watched the French movie, Coco Before Chanel, and absolutely loved COCO CHANEL’s strong will to change the way women dressed in the 1920′s. She created timeless designs that are still very popular today. She herself became a much revered style icon known for her simple yet sophisticated outfits paired with fabulous accessories, such as a beautiful strands of pearls.  From her use of monochrome to her over sized ‘costume’ pearls and cuffs, everything is still continuously referenced.

As she herself once said: “Fashion fades, only style remains the same.” So for wedding flowers influence; think stylish, simple, single flowers on mass used in striking containers – be creative and use coco chanel perfume bottles as vases or flowers can be arranged in eclectic hat boxes. ART DECO of the same era also influences a more monochrome luxury with whites, creams, champagnes with accents of black.
